Job Duties
Data Analysis and Reporting:·
- Develops multiple reports analyzing student, course, and program-level data and performance, including end-of-phase reports and CQI dashboards and institutional surveys like the Student Experience Survey and Graduate surveys.
- Develops individual student performance dashboards for Student Evaluation and Promotion Committee review.
- In consultation with the Office of Medical Education, reviews and supports data collection and analysis for the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) letters.
- In consultation with Office of IDEAS leadership, responds to internal and external ad-hoc requests for statistical analysis and report development.
- As part of standard reporting and responding to ad-hoc requests, performs routine statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics, exam item psychometrics, correlation and multiple linear regression analysis, reliability statistics, t-tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA).
- Collaborate closely with a variety of constituents to meet a wide range of data collection, analysis, and reporting needs.
- Develop dashboards for key stakeholders.
- Support data driven decision making and planning.
- Other data analysis and reporting needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership.
Data Management:·
- Maintains longitudinal data sets, tracking student, course, and program data over time, ensuring data integrity, for the purposes of performing statistical analysis and educational research.
- Supports data governance initiative, including developing and maintaining data dictionaries and systems and process documentation.
- Monitor data entry from key stakeholders in student and program information systems to ensure quality and completeness of data.
- Assists with the design and development of specific databases for collection, tracking, and analysis of student and program data.
- Maintains course and faculty evaluation data and files for data reporting and analysis.
- Other data management needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership
Evaluation:
- Supports the timely development, administration, and analysis and reporting of institutional surveys (e.g, Student Experience Survey and Graduate/Residency surveys).
- In consultation with Office of IDEAS leadership, supports ad-hoc requests from
- Faculty, staff, and administration for new surveys or evaluations, including development, distribution, and reporting
- Maintains data files of external program surveys, e.g. AAMC Graduate Questionnaire, and supports the reporting and analysis of results.
- Supports accreditation, CQI, and strategic planning efforts, including with
- Data collection and tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- Other evaluation needs as requested by Office of IDEAS leadership.
Job Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Experience with collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data
- Experience with university faculty/staff administration Experience with assessment processes within higher education
- Advanced skills with excel, including formula writing, pivot tables, charts, macros, VBA, etc.
- Experience with programming languages, e.g. R, Python, SQL, JavaScript
- Experience with relational database management systems, e.g. MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL
- Experience with Smartsheet
- Experience with accreditation.
- Familiarity with medical education.
- Experience with survey platforms like SurveryMonkey or Qualtrics or RedCap
- Familiar with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
- Familiar with database management concepts and programming languages like R, Python, SQL, JavaScript
- Ability to formulate and implement administrative policies and procedures related to data management.

- Ability to critically review data and identify and conduct appropriate statistical methods for meaningful analysis
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, e.g. excel, PowerPoint, word, forms
- Experience with statistical software like SAS, SPSS, STATA, R
- Ability to organize and document work effectively and develop standard operating procedures of data management and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and commit to teamwork and collaboration in and between multiple offices.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and complete work with required timelines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
