Job Duties
This position is responsible for developing processes for the collection, analysis, and reporting of data or information for accredited programs in the College of Fine Arts, as well as other related areas of research as appropriate to the needs of the College and its units. As an Institutional Research Data Partner, this position will have full advantage of Institutional Research resources, such as trainings, official reporting consultations, and expertise.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for collecting and analyzing data and producing reports required for maintenance of accreditation by the National Association for Art and Design (NASAD), National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST), National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), and other program and University accrediting agencies.
- Provides data and analysis to college administration to inform decisions, policy changes, accreditation planning, college rankings, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Maintains and develops databases related to faculty and graduate student productivity, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for reporting needs. Translates data and insights into actionable recommendations and collaborates with leadership to implement and monitor initiatives that support university advancement, optimize resource allocation, and drive long-term strategic goals.
- Provides data to support program evaluation, strategic academic planning, and continuous improvement aligned with the internal goals and priorities of academic units.
- Develops and refines processes to identify meaningful trends in enrollment, student success, curriculum outcomes, and resource allocation. Works collaboratively with
- Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to interpret findings, plan initiatives, monitor and implement data-informed strategies that promote sustainable growth, program innovation, and responsiveness to student and faculty needs.
- Responsible for designing, developing and conducting surveys administered by the college to be used in various assessment tasks.
- Serves as the College of Fine Arts data governance liaison. Supports data governance work through supporting various university-wide and fine arts-specific data governance-related projects and processes in the areas of data quality and data management. Consults with Institutional Research (IR) as the Fine Arts subject matter expert to build and maintain trust in Fine Arts data.
- Conducts trainings and workshops for faculty and staff to promote data literacy in the College of Fine Arts and across campus. This includes assisting with the Power BI training series and small-group discussions with campus stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of practical work experience or a post high school education or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a post high school education and experience equal to six years)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Preference for advanced degree in statistics, econometrics, or research sciences with high statistical engagement.
- Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and software tools such as Power BI.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data and insights clearly.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SQL is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Proven executive communication skills with the ability to discuss complex data and insights confidently with senior leaders.
