Job Duties

Support academic and non-instructional units in maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. Work with other offices to acquire necessary data to meet the University’s assessment and research needs.  Assist in the coordination of institutional quality management and assurance of continual compliance with all external accrediting agencies

  1. Coordinates the University’s institutional effectiveness process.
  2. Co-leads the University’s budgeting and planning process.
  3. Work with academic and non-academic leaders to generate unit- and program-level data and reports. Maintain all college assessment records through annual reports (maintained and stored in the assessment software).
  4. Serves as a resource for faculty and staff on issues pertaining to program evaluation, course assessments and accreditation.
  5. Assists specific academic program coordinators in preparing and submitting unit, College, program, and state reports consistent with and required by various accrediting bodies such as SACSCOC as well as supporting the assembly of internal reports as required by the College.
  6. Provides training for outcomes assessment including, but not limited to, identifying objectives, selecting measures, and using results to drive decision-making.
  7. Coordinates and maintain the annual calendar of accreditation and assessment activities.
  8. Assists in the implementation of the strategic planning process for the college; shares feedback on progress, problems, solutions, and desirable changes in relation to strategic planning process for the college; shares feedback on progress, problems, solutions and desirable changes in relation to strategic planning and quality assurance; schedules and conducts meetings to present, explain, and discuss the strategic plan with individuals and groups; provides input in college policies and procedures; compiles and distributes annual reports, establishes time frames needed to complete projects according to federal, state, external agency, and college deadlines.
  9. Designs, develops, and implements statistical research methodologies for the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of institutional data to support student success, strategic planning, assessment, decision making and policy building.
  10. Coordinates the development and maintenance of databases to support and track data collection from the University’s academic programs and operational units.
  11. Administers CCSSE, IPS, SSI, and other national survey assessment instruments. Assists faculty, staff, and students in the development and administration of special interest surveys.
  12. Monitors data collection from programs, courses, internships, employers, graduates/alumni, federal agencies, etc. as needed to support the assembly of internal reports.
  13. Oversees the extraction and compilation of data and publication of college-wide reports such as but not limited to the annual Fact Book.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, statistics, information sciences, or any field closely related to assessment
  2. Three years of directly related work experience involving assessment and/or institutional effectiveness
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
  5. Ability to work independently and in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Master’s degree in a field closely related to research or data analysis
  2. Experience with higher education assessment and national survey administration
  3. Demonstrated ability using statistical software applications (SPSS, SAS, Excel)
  4. Familiarity with assessment management software (Watermark, Weave, etc.)
