Application Procedure:
Job Duties
- Designs and develops API integrations between Banner and institutional systems using Python and modern integration frameworks.
- Builds custom scripts for data exchange, automates system processes, and creates middleware solutions that connect Banner with CRM (Element451), Ellucian products, and third-party applications.
- Writes robust, maintainable code that follows enterprise development standards and supports the university’s modernization strategy.
- Develops complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to extend Banner functionality and support institutional business processes.
- Writes optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation, ensuring efficient database performance across Banner Student, Finance, HR, and Financial Aid modules.
- Creates database objects that support reporting, data integrity, and system automation requirements.
- Provides hands-on technical support during vendor implementations and system upgrades, including data mapping, API configuration, technical troubleshooting, and integration testing.
- Works directly with vendors to resolve technical issues, implement their APIs and web services, and ensure successful integration with Banner systems.
- Serves as a technical resource during implementation projects, translating vendor specifications into working solutions.
- Develops technical solutions that enable Banner modernization initiatives, including automating manual processes, building data pipelines for cloud-based systems, and creating scripts that facilitate migration to modern platforms.
- Supports the Assistant Director in shifting toward contemporary integration patterns, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native architectures that position UIW for future technology evolution.
- Troubleshoots complex technical issues involving data integrations, API connections, and database performance.
- Analyzes error logs, debugs scripts and procedures, tests solutions in development environments, and implements fixes that resolve production issues.
- Responds to escalated technical problems and provides rapid solutions that minimize system disruption.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on enterprise systems which support administrative processes.
