Job Duties
- Prepare project-related reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Enter, compile, code, categorize, calculate, and tabulate information or data using a variety of software and data formats.
- Conduct effective quality assurance checks and recommend corrections where necessary to continuously increase the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Provide timely, readily accessible data acquisition, information and analysis for college staff that can be used in decision-making.
- Perform collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, including focus groups, interviews, telephone surveys and questionnaires.
- Understand SQL and relation databases and have the ability to apply this knowledge in support of college activities.
- Provide consultation to departments/staff regarding the design and interpretation of data reports which address their unique needs. Run, interpret and customize reports to provide basic information to stakeholders. Respond to data/information requests.
- Develop online surveys to support data gathering for the department.
- Keep current in the field of educational and institutional research including developments in computer hardware and software technology by attending conferences, seminars, reading technical journals, etc.
- Provide support to the program development and evaluation coordinator, if needed, to design and conduct needs assessment studies for new instructional programs and/or conduct quality reviews of programs.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, business management, education, data analytics or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 2 to 3+ years of professional experience, preferably working on research projects and/or data reporting, including collecting, compiling, checking, and analyzing data; or equivalent experience in an academic setting (e.g., a research assistantship).
- Working knowledge of and proficiency with data reporting tools, online survey tools and statistical software such as SPSS.
- Fundamental understanding of social science research methods and practice, including protection of human subjects/confidentiality.
- Working understanding of qualitative research methods.
- Intermediate level of statistical knowledge.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening, working one-on-one and in group settings.
- Ability to conduct and coordinate multiple activities/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage time and prioritize work and meet overlapping deadlines.
- Orientation to detail and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Intermediate level computer software application skills in word processing, Microsoft Excel and databases.
Institution Description
WCTC is a public two-year college serving the western suburbs of the Milwaukee-Waukesha Metropolitan Statistical Area including the City of Waukesha. WCTC is programs are primarily career-oriented, and also serves high school students, ABE/ESL, and provides workforce training. WCTC serves about 8,000 postsecondary students, and 18,000 total students, annually and generates about 3,500 FTE.
