Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and evaluate comprehensive processes of strategic planning, assessment, institutional research and broad oversight of the Artificial Intelligence initiatives. And, in coordination with the college HLC ALO, broad oversight for accreditation.
- Work with college constituencies to develop and implement plans and services that support the college mission, to assess their effectiveness using relevant quantitative and qualitative data, and to use assessment to inform decisions about those programs and services.
- Compile data to measure the achievement of key performance indicators, and reports these data in an annual report to the campus leadership and community.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date electronic data set on key performance indicators.
- Provide support of college-wide assessment of student learning, including developing and implementing data tools and reports, disseminating best practices on assessment activities to the college community, conducting relevant training and mentoring activities for faculty and staff, and ensuring a linkage between assessment of student learning, academic program review, and institutional effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and resources to support strategic enrollment management efforts, including analysis and recommendations based on internal data trends, and external guidance on best practices and trends likely to affect CWC.
- Coordinate the collection and reporting of data to the Wyoming Community College Commission, U.S. Department of Education, and other regulatory authorities to include IPEDS, the Community College Survey of Student Engagement, NJCAA reporting and others as necessary.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to collect data; produce statistics, analyses, reports, and reviews relative to internal and external requests for data. Work with large complex data sets, including exporting/importing from various sources, cleaning data files and maintaining historical records.
- Develop and maintain data visualization tools to inform the college community and empower the use of data-informed decision-making.
- Lead the effective utilization of data for planning, policy-making, and program improvement across the college.
- Manage the strategic planning process, including plan development and tracking progress, and evaluate for process improvement.
- Work with departments across the college to align department level planning with college-wide objectives and key performance indicators and to identify outcomes and performance measures appropriate to instructional and non-instructional areas.
- With the Cabinet, ensure that budgetary planning aligns with and supports strategic planning and implementation.
- Promote a college-wide culture of inquiry in which evidence-based assessment is used to measure the effectiveness of all programs, services, and processes.
- Provide professional development opportunities to strengthen institutional effectiveness skills throughout the college.
- Attend monthly Board meetings and prepare and present reports as needed. Attend President’s Cabinet meetings.
- Represent the college at state level meetings, professional meetings, and conferences in the area of institutional research and effectiveness.
- Operate within the scope of and complies with CWC policies, procedures and practices.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned.
Job Qualifications
Position Specifications and Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in higher education administration, business administration, measurement, statistics, social science or other related quantitative discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in education research or planning, quantitative and qualitative research methods, assessment within higher education and higher education accreditation processes.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Wyoming driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s insurance carrier. Successful completion of criminal background screening required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Experience with R Studio, SQL, Tableau, Watermark Planning and Self Study for Strategic Planning (or similar strategic planning software)
