Job Duties
Job Description
The Research Associate I will work under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Research and will collect data for the support of institutional effectiveness, planning, and assessment at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Various data is needed both to fulfill required external reports and to support strategic planning and decision-making at the university level. The position assists with all aspects of institutional research and collaborates with others to develop and deliver effective data products. Subject to change, this position will consist of one day of remote work, with the remainder of the week on site.
Responsibilities
Work within Institutional Research to fulfill university information needs, including identifying the information needed in reports/data visualizations, retrieving data from relevant sources, and developing the final products/visualizations needed to deliver complete reporting solutions.
Perform systematic extraction, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative university data for state/national reports and surveys.
Extract and analyze data for ad-hoc reports pertaining to students, faculty, staff, and instructional processes.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience with analyzing and reporting data, either in the workplace or in an academic setting. This experience must also include working with Microsoft Excel and other Office products to analyze and report data.
Preferred Requirements
SQL programmingReporting tools such as SAS, Argos, SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, etc.
Statistical analysis software such as SAS, R, Python, etc.
