FAQ for Voting Delegates

  • How can we change our organization's voting delegate?

If you'd like to assign a new voting delegate, reach out to membership@airweb.org with the name and email address of the new voting delegate.

  • How do I vote?

You will receive voting instructions via email at the start of an election period.

  • Some of our employees also received invitations to vote. Why would this happen if I am the person responsible for voting on my organization’s behalf?

The employees who received separate invitations to vote are likely individual AIR members. Every AIR member is entitled to one vote. In the case of organizational membership, the organization technically holds the membership—and their employees access benefits via that organization’s membership. As such, organizations are entitled to a single vote, representing the entire organization. Those who hold individual memberships are also entitled to a vote, even if they also access membership benefits through your organization’s membership.

  • What is the best way to make voting selections on my organization’s behalf?

Organizations approach this differently, often taking into account their organization’s priorities and gathering input from the organization’s employees who are active with AIR. (Note: Your organization’s company admin has access to a roster of active participants.)

  • When does voting occur?

General leadership elections typically take place annually in February. Occasionally, the membership is also called upon to vote for governance changes, which can happen at any point in the year.

  • Why am I receiving two different—but similar—invitations to vote?

You will receive two different invitations to vote if you are a voting delegate and hold individual AIR membership.

Your invitations to vote will be clearly marked to differentiate between your individual vote and your organization’s vote.
