PDP: Time to Credential / Credentials Conferred Dashboard Introduction and Basic Functionality

This tutorial introduces participants to the Time to Credential / Credentials Conferred dashboard available through the Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) dashboards. Users will learn how to interpret key metrics such as the average time to credential and the distribution of credentials conferred by type. The course also explains how enrollment patterns (first-time vs. transfer-in), attendance intensity (full-time vs. part-time), and other factors affect time-to-completion. Participants will learn how to apply filters and dimensions to focus on specific student groups and explore ways to use the findings to enhance program efficiency, reduce student debt, and promote timely student success.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the purpose and functionality of the Time to Credential / Credentials Conferred dashboard.
  • Analyze the average time it takes students to earn certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees.
  • Apply filters and dimensions to examine outcomes for specific student populations (e.g., first-time students, Pell Grant recipients).
  • Interpret differences in credential conferral patterns across academic years.
  • Use dashboard findings to support institutional strategies that promote on-time completion and reduce barriers to credential attainment.
