AIR is saddened to announce the passing of longtime member Glynton Smith on March 3, 2021.

Glynton was a retired director of institutional research at Georgia State as well as the Medical College of Georgia and the University System of Georgia. She was considered by many one of the pioneers of institutional research. At her final AIR conference, she was introduced as “the godmother of institutional research.”
