Job dutiesThe Research Associate is responsible for:
The creation of census files;
the development,preparation and distribution of analytical reports based on census files, particularly web-based presentations of IR information for public consumption;
completion of external data submissions such as IPEDS and US News;
development and maintenance of assigned internal publications such as the Factbook;
maintenance of Institutional research web resources;
Preparation of reports and analyses for all internal surveys created in Qualtrics; and
collaboration with the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness on strategic projects.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Data Science, Social Sciences, Business, Accounting, Educational Research or appropriately related field; or Bachelors Degree and 1 year experience in Institutional Research or business applications consulting or development; or Associates Degree in Computer Programming and 1 year experience in 1 year experience in Institutional Research or business applications consulting or development; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, including pivot tables, formulas, and vlookup
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office business suite, including SharePoint
• Detail oriented; possess strong analytical skills and statistical ability to translate raw data from various sources into information and knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and completely, to develop new skills as needed, to adapt when conditions change, and engage in continuous improvement in response to work performance feedback
• Demonstrated responsiveness and attentiveness to needs of clients/stakeholders and the ability to foster positive and productive working relationships with co-workers
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional and reliable work ethic and a commitment to punctuality and attendance
• Ability to set priorities and fulfill multiple concurrent demands on a self-directed basis with minimum supervision

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with large relational databases, data warehouses, data marts
• Ability to use SQL programming language in a relational database environment to edit and maintain SQL queries and reports, experience with Infomaker a plus
• Experience in building web-delivered reports and dashboards with Tableau, Microsoft BI or similar software
• Experience with SAS, SPSS or similar software
• Knowledge of research and statistics, higher education policy
• Experience reporting data and creating tables and graphs for multiple constituencies
• Experience interpreting client informational needs and determining alternate solutions when necessary
• Experience with student information systems such as Jenzebar, powerfaids, and JRM.
• Experience with Qualtrics and external data submissions such as IPEDS and US News.
• 1-3 years experience in Institutional Research
• Institutional Research Certificate and/or college level statistics and research coursework
Salary range$20,000 - $40,000
Salary benefits$15-$19 per hour dependent on qualifications,
