Job dutiesAmong other duties the Institutional Research Associate ensures all reports to state and federal agencies, The University of Texas System, accrediting bodies and external agencies are accurate and timely, including monitoring and analyzing reporting requirements, conducting data queries, and auditing/verifying data, develops, coordinates and conducts ad hoc studies for administrators, faculty, staff, and others including data retrieval, statistical analysis, projections and other procedures as required. Includes collecting, interpreting, analyzing data, presenting results in narrative, tabular and graphical forms and making recommendations as required, queries PeopleSoft, internal and external databases to retrieve data and produce reports on students, staff, faculty, facilities, and other topics as required, evaluates and manages the processing and maintenance of institutional data and databases, evaluates and maintains data integrity and recommends changes to improve data quality, performs all assigned responsibilities according to established practices, procedures, and data security standards. Complies with all federal and state laws and rules, and system and university rules, policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsFor consideration, candidates should possess a master’s degree in social science, business, education or other research related field with three years of data analysis experience in higher education; extensive experience with SQL, Excel, Word, SPSS or SAS; excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with Power BI, Crystal Reports or other BI tools and PeopleSoft experience preferred. Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision; take initiative; handle emergencies effectively and professionally. The ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
