Happy Holidays from AIR

As 2023 comes to a close, we’d like to pause to say thank you to the AIR community. Reflecting on the past year at AIR, we have a lot to celebrate.

We refined our mission to more clearly communicate our commitment to equity and ethics, and to expanding data literacy at a time when more people, regardless of their role, are expected to use data to generate insights that fuel actions.

We launched new programs and services to meet the evolving needs of our community, including the Data Literacy Institute—a program for cross-functional teams that builds the knowledge, skills, habits, and mindsets for individuals to better use data to generate those insights and take actions that benefit students and institutions.

And we identified critical areas for attention and growth to ensure a strong future for IR and IE.

We also look forward to initiatives on the horizon like the addition of AIR organizational membership in January 2024, which will allow institutions and organizations to join AIR so that all employees have access to membership benefits, training, and resources, including the opportunity to expand and diversify their professional networks.

We wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the time, talent, and engagement of AIR community members—our instructors, mentors, subject matter experts, and committee members. Our advisors, volunteers, course attendees, and loyal members. I’d especially like to thank the volunteer leaders who make up the AIR Board of Directors and the Nominations & Election Committee, who deserve special recognition and appreciation for all their contributions over the past year.
