AIR Among Organizations Urging Department of Education to Preserve Postsecondary Sample Studies

  • by AIR

AIR was among nearly 50 organizations urging the U.S. Department of Education and Institute of Education Sciences (IES) to reinstate the Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study (B&B), and preserve the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) and the Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study (BPS).

This comes amid concerns about potential budget cuts and program eliminations due to financial strains exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter emphasizes the importance of these programs in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion on campuses and in society at large. It also highlights the role of federal funding in supporting such initiatives and encourages ED to consider the broader societal implications of any decisions to reduce or eliminate these programs.
