Job Duties

Under the general direction of the Director of Policy Analytics, the Senior Research Analyst for Academic and Student Affairs will perform duties as outlined below:

-Produces significant analytic works of great depth and breadth with little to no supervision.

-Develops and executes appropriate original analytic solutions at great depth of subject, context, and/or coverage leveraging collaborative interactions and knowledge sharing. Creates original complex analytic code to interrogate analytic data assets.

-Communicates analytic findings at depth and breadth to CSU, campus, and external audiences to inform decisions.

-Creates original data visualization to guide data-driven decisions.

-Collaborates with CSU IT. Identifies new opportunities to broaden CSU data asset collections. Develops and executes collection strategies. Coordinate the development of detailed data specifications and data reporting structures pursuant to CSU data reporting requirements.

-Represent and provides substantive input on behalf of IR&A in meetings involving data and analytic works.

-Maintains and builds data-driven analyses. Develop reporting capacity to meet internal and external needs.

-Produces ad-hoc, mandatory, and original analytic works of significant complexity.

Job Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with four years of progressively responsible experience in educational research, institutional research, data analysis, and/or operations research.

- Experience working with quantitative data and experience in higher education, psychometrics, public policy formation, data science, statistics, economics, information systems, computer science, mathematics, or quantitative social science research.

-Experience with data analytic strategies and optimizing outcomes/analyses.

-Proficiency in SAS, SPSS, STATA, and/or R.

-Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, and/or QuickSight (Tableau currently used by department).

-Ability to think critically and strategically.

-Ability to work independently with a high degree of personal accountability.

-Excellent attention to detail and solid organizational skills.

-Ability to work collaboratively on projects of varying complexity.

-Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.

-Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

-Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

-Possession of a master's degree is desirable; education and experience comparable to an advanced degree is preferred.
