Job dutiesFlagler College seeks a Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to begin as soon as possible. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, the Director is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and reporting institutional data used in departmental, program, and instructional evaluations; preparing, developing, and publishing internal and external reports and surveys; providing support for program reviews, accreditation visits, and Board of Trustees meetings; serving as a resource for various assessment and effectiveness initiatives; presenting data and summaries of survey and test results in a manner that efficiently and accurately conveys information useful to decision makers and to the college community; and reporting to government, accrediting, and other external agencies. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The Director is also responsible for providing leadership in developing and implementing plans to evaluate the achievement of institutional goals and student learning outcomes. Knowledge of the accreditation process, including the evaluation of institutional effectiveness, as a requirement of the regional accrediting body (SACSCOC), is essential.

The Director manages the daily activities of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, provides assistance with internal and external survey research, and oversees the administration of standardized assessment instruments.
QualificationsThe minimum qualifications required for consideration include: U.S. citizenship; a master’s degree (doctoral degree preferred) from a regionally accredited institution in a quantitative oriented discipline appropriate for the duties of the position; three years of professional experience in higher education research, data analysis, planning, and institutional effectiveness; experience with qualitative and quantitative research; experience with relational databases and software used for data analysis such as, SPSS or SAS, and Excel; and proficiency with MS Office Suite and other standard office applications.

Desirable personal attributes include the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities; the ability to prioritize projects and manage competing demands; excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of faculty and staff.
