Job dutiesThe Institutional Research Analyst works with the Assistant Provost to create data sets and reports from various institutional databases and external sources; perform statistical analyses of data; disseminate information to the campus community in various formats; produce and submit a variety of recurring and ad hoc reports; and respond to internal and external requests for information. The position reports to the Assistant Provost for Institutional Effectiveness.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the Assistant Provost in developing institutional research studies; performing data analysis; and preparing responses to surveys, reports, and data requests.
• Collect data from a variety of external sources (e.g., Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and National Center for Educational Statistics) to support institutional research studies.
• Support all phases of the data analysis process, including querying databases, conducting statistical analyses, and producing reports using a variety of formats.
• Provide support for student course evaluation data collection and dissemination.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Quantitative analysis skills and strong attention to detail.
• Able to complete assigned projects with accuracy and adhere to deadlines.
• Able to work as part of a team and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Able to work independently and effectively under multiple deadlines.
• Able to handle confidential data in an ethical and professional manner.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with Banner and Argos preferred.
• Proficiency using statistical packages for data analysis preferred, specifically SAS .
• Proficiency in SQL programming and using SQL to query and summarize data preferred.
QualificationsRequired Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, management information systems, social sciences or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Education and/or Experience
Experience working in higher education institutional research and with the Ellucian Banner and Argos reporting software packages. Experience with SQL programming using SQL to query and summarize data, as well as using statistical packages for data analysis.
