Job dutiesSurvey Research Analyst

Under the direction of senior social science research staff, conduct analyses of survey data for selected research projects supporting LSAC staff and outside stakeholders. Coordinate and carry out routine and ad hoc analyses related to social research, surveys, business analytics, and other quantitative research activities of the Social Science Research group. Collaborates on designing and producing reports and summaries for internal LSAC staff and external law school members as well as other stakeholders. Must perform tasks with minimal supervision from senior Social Science Research staff. Act as primary analyst for survey research projects. Oversee data cleaning and quality control of data for analytical purposes. In collaboration with senior Social Science Research staff, design and prepare ongoing and ad hoc survey reports by completing analyses, presenting data, and drafting text of the report.
QualificationsA Master’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in data analysis and applied statistics or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 8 years’ experience in data analysis and applied statistics is required. Strong knowledge of survey research analytical planning and execution. Experience in the planning, design, and execution of data analyses for survey research projects is required. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective time-management and communication skills are required. Must function as a highly effective and collaborative member of a fast-paced analytical research team. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 or 2016 is required. Experience with statistical software packages such as SAS or R is required. Must be willing to learn additional analytical programming languages or systems as required. Experience with survey and database software is highly desirable. Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI or SAS Visual Analytics is desirable. Must maintain a detail orientation and quality assurance mindset with high standards of accuracy in preparing and verifying data analysis programs, ad hoc analyses, and statistical and research documents. Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with LSAC members, volunteers, and staff at all levels. Ability to effectively follow procedures and exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential material.
