Job dutiesPosition Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operation Strategies, with responsibilities to the Vice President of Data Analytics and the Vice President of Research and Planning, this position will serve various research functions for Strada’s operating affiliates, mission advancement and grants team, and the enterprise at large. This position entails the use of wide range of data analytics, statistical analysis, evaluation, survey design, literature reviews and environmental scans, and interpretation of information for leadership users. Strada will use its research and evaluation function to help leadership understand the effectiveness and impact of existing grantee and operation affiliate work and identify gaps and areas for future investment.

The research director will work closely with operating affiliate leadership and Strada leaders to identify future research questions that will help drive new philanthropic investments, company acquisitions, and strategic direction and existing investments. Responsibilities include the following:

•Environmental scanning and literature review: Track and review relevant news stories, analyses, white papers, and journal articles. Analyze and distill key insights from those sources and make them available to internal constituents.
•Metric reporting: Work with the Institutional Technology department and operations leaders to create and maintain dashboards for shared services units and operating companies. Devise appropriate knowledge and evaluation platforms, instruments, reports, and performance monitoring tools.
•Conducting primary research: Design and manage research and evaluation projects to help answer specific questions from internal customers about companies, grants, markets, trends, and connecting lessons learned to inform on-going strategy and future work.
•Supporting enterprise-wide research agenda: Assist in the creation of research briefs and presentations to communicate high-level trends and insights for use by business leaders and executives in making decisions and developing strategy
•Managing external data projects and vendors: Coordinate with external partners to interpret their data, manage research vendors and consultants, and ensure timely and high-quality research results.
•Training: Assist others in understanding the role and significance of the data, including ability to transform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis into usable information.
•Presenting: Present original, partner and external research to leadership groups and external constituents.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
•Five plus years of experience in an evaluation and measurement role.
•Knowledge of education programs, policy, and philanthropic organization
•Strong understanding of program evaluation methodologies.
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
•Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Experience making sound judgements and thinking creatively.
•Ability to multi-task and be flexible.
•Highly developed and demonstrated project management skills.

Salary range$60,000 - $80,000
