Job dutiesEssential Duties: Assessment

Serve as chair the University Assessment Committee, providing leadership for review of assessment of student learning in academic programs, review of academic program effectiveness, and the administrative quality assurance process
Works directly with the Provost in the coordination and documentation of the university-wide accreditation processes, state authorization and specialized accreditation
Guide the development of mission statements, student learning outcomes and assessment plans for new or substantially revise d academic programs
With the Director of Institutional Research, oversee administration of institution-level assessments of student learning, analyzing results and reporting those results to appropriate constituencies in a variety of formats
Document the use of institutional assessment data in decision-making and resource allocation, linking both with the institution 's strategic plan
Provide faculty development sessions related to assessment
Provide training for administrators on the institution 's Quality Assurance process
With the Provost, prepare and administer budget requests for assessment and accreditation functions


Oversee the identification, collection, organization and storage of evidentiary material for HLC accreditation
Maintain documentation of all HLC and specialize d accreditation activity
Assist Program Directors with the collection and analysis of institutional data necessary for accreditation purposes
Ass is t Program Directors wit h preparation of self-studies and reports as requested
Assist the Provost with other accreditation duties (HLC and specialized accreditation) as assigned


Work with the Director of Institutional Research to design and conduct research related to assessment, enrollment, persistence, retention and student satisfaction
Serve as a contributing member of the Academic Affairs Committee
Assure that the data needs of institutional constituencies are met
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Education/Training and Experience Required)

Master's degree in educational research or a related field
5 years of demonstrated successful experience in assessment and accreditation
Familiarity with HLC, federal and state assessment and accreditation policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to interpret statistical analysis and present findings to others
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationship s with all campus constituencies
Highly proficient technology skills, including spreadsheet and presentation software, and the ability to use software applications to organize, archive and disseminate assessment data

Physical Requirements or Unusual Work Hours

Additional work hours as needed
Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and ability to use computer for extended periods of time
