Job dutiesThis position is responsible for supporting, developing, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining data warehouse, business intelligence, dashboard, and dynamic reporting initiatives. This position requires the analyst to follow through the entire development process of meeting business needs by transforming data and technical requirements into successful solutions. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Analytics and Institutional Research.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain BI solutions through use of Blackboard Analytics, Tableau, and other reporting tools
● Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in IRAP and ITS (Information Technology Services), as well as campus faculty, staff, and administrators to identify opportunities for improved and dynamic reporting solutions
● Assist with creating and delivering training workshops and documentation regarding University BI reports and tools
● Assist colleagues in IRAP, ITS, and the UNC System Office regarding UNC Data Mart and submissions
● Work with key campus units to ensure data warehouse data quality (Admissions, Registrar, etc.)
● Willingness to learn new hardware/software systems to better perform assigned tasks
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
● Completed Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field of study
● 1-3 years of experience in database design and administration, programming, query-writing, and report development using analytics/BI tools
● Proficient with SQL/querying languages
● Demonstrated proficiency in retrieving data from ERP Systems (i.e., Banner or PeopleSoft) using SQL/querying languages
● Experience creating multi-dimensional designs for accessing data and presenting information using analytical/BI reporting applications, such as Blackboard Analytics reporting tools, Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics
● Excellent communication and presentation skills
● Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and students
● Ability to operate with a high level of independence, routinely making critical decisions and exercising sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications:
● Completed Master’s degree in computer science, data analytics, information systems, or related field of study
● 3-5 years of experience in database design and administration, programming and query-writing, report development using analytics/BI tools
● Relevant experience in a higher education institution
● Direct experience with Blackboard Analytics and Tableau
Salary range$60,000 - $80,000
Salary benefitsSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This is a full-time, 12-month position.
