Job dutiesJob Description:
Bellarmine University invites applications for an Institutional Research Analyst. The position is housed in the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness(http://www.bellarmine.edu/academicaffairs/ire/), which collects, organizes, analyzes, and disseminates institutional data to support Bellarmine's mission, strategic initiatives, management practices, and day-to-day operations. A major function of the IR&E office is to coordinate campus-wide data gathering and use of reporting technologies to support planning, accreditation, assessment, and federal/regional/state compliance. Additionally, the office conducts iterative and ad hoc research related to student learning outcomes, curriculum and program evaluation, campus climate and affective/perception-based studies, and other continuous improvement measures.
The qualified candidate will perform duties including, but not limited to:
* instrument and survey design using eXplorance Blue and other technology tools;
* data analysis, statistical testing, and inferential research on survey results;
* interpreting and communicating about findings with various campus constituencies;
* assisting with the development of visualizations, dashboards, and high-level performance indicators for University stakeholders;
* collaborating effectively to improve information management, data governance, and quality assurance;
* report writing and responding to internal data requests;
* business process review and needs analysis; and
* representing the Office of IR&E on committees, task forces, and working groups as needed.
Additional Information:
The new hire will be trained on Bellarmine's enterprise system, Ellucian Colleague, and related reporting environments including SAP Business Objects, Tableau, SQL Management Studio, and Report Builder.
Additionally, the position will require the use of various tools for data collection and analysis including eXplorance Blue, R/R Studio (or SPSS, Stata, SAS, or comparable software), Rapid Insight Analytics, and tools used to monitor licensure and accreditation.

QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:
* A completed master's degree in educational research, economics, psychology, sociology, public policy, or another applied social science field with a strong research component; or a completed bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of relevant professional experience
* Knowledge of the quantitative and qualitative research techniques, methodology, and technology tools needed at all stages of a survey or evaluation project (construct mapping, instrument design, launching surveys, tabulating results, ensuring the validity and reliability of data collections, compiling descriptive and inferential statistics, and disseminating findings)
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other workplace productivity applications
* Ability to use extreme discretion when working with highly confidential information
* Uncommon attention to accuracy and detail
* Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and critical thinking skills
* Exemplary writing and oral communication skills
* Ability to prioritize work while remaining proactive and adaptable to changing needs
Preferred Qualifications:
* At least one year of experience with eXplorance Blue or similar survey/evaluation software
* Experience with Ellucian Colleague or similar enterprise-level student information systems
* Experience with Business Objects, Tableau, or other business intelligence/data science software
* Familiarity with basic programming skills, especially related to constructing queries and investigating data models within relational databases
* Internship or previous employment in higher education administration
