IPEDS Tutorials: Winter and Spring Collection Updated

AIR is pleased to announce updated IPEDS video tutorials for the 2020–21 winter and spring collection periods. Funded and approved by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the tutorials are free of charge and available on our website for your convenience:

Winter Collection

The winter collection period opened December 9, 2020, and closes February 10, 2021, for IPEDS Keyholders and February 24, 2021 for IPEDS Coordinators.
  • 200% Graduation Rates (GR200): Collect more extensive data on graduation rates as required by HEOA.
  • Admissions (ADM): Collect basic information about the undergraduate selection process for entering first-time, degree/certificate-seeking students.
  • Graduation Rates (GR): Track the cohorts of first-time, full-time, degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates, as well as their completion status at 150% of normal time at postsecondary institutions.
  • Outcome Measures (OM): Track the status of four undergraduate student cohorts at degree-granting institutions.
  • Student Financial Aid (SFA): Collect information about financial aid provided to various groups of undergraduate students in order to meet the requirements of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended.

Spring Collection

The spring collection period opened December 9, 2020, and closes April 7, 2021, for IPEDS Keyholders and April 21, 2021 for IPEDS Coordinators.
  • Finance (F): Collect basic financial information from items associated with the institution's General Purpose Financial Statements (GPFS).
  • Human Resources (HR): Collect the number of staff by employment status (full-time and part-time) and occupational category.
  • Fall Enrollment (EF): Collect enrollment data on all students enrolled for credit in courses/programs that could lead to awards ranging from postsecondary certificates of less than 1 year to doctoral degrees.
  • Academic Libraries (AL): Collect information on library collections, library expenditures, and library services for libraries in degree-granting postsecondary institutions.
