Job dutiesSaint Mary's College seeks a Director of Institutional Research to provide vision and leadership to Saint Mary’s College institutional research strategies. This position leads and develops a team responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall quality of work of the Office of Institutional Research, and is responsible for extracting, analyzing, reporting, and disseminating information on the College’s operational data and Saint Mary’s role in state and national higher education. This position is also responsible for providing a central repository for all accreditation reports, data, and documentation.

Reporting to the President, the IR Director plays a major role in policy-formation and strategic planning at the College, presenting, interpreting, and disseminating information to appropriate internal and external constituencies and bears primary responsibility for compliance with state, federal, accrediting body and other critical accountability mandates.

This is a full-time, exempt level position.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in statistics, public policy, social science, higher education, or a closely related applicable field is required along with a minimum of 5 years of experience designing, conducting, interpreting, reporting, and explaining data analysis. Also required is experience managing relational databases (SCT/Banner a plus) to complete analytical and compliance reports and analyses (e.g., SAS/SPSS, Tableau); experience managing institutional datasets and experience in analyzing and reporting from an enterprise-level integrated database management system and concurrent separate data system; experience designing and conducting management research studies (e.g., focus groups, surveys); advanced knowledge of reporting standards (e.g., national IPEDS standards); ability to use statistical database, spreadsheet, and word-processing computer programs to translate quantitative data into usable information for planning, assessment, and other purposes; demonstrated strong leadership and training skills with the ability to supervise team work and to work as a team member; demonstrated interpersonal skills involving data analysis; excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent organizational skills
