Job dutiesReporting to the Associate Provost for Institutional Research and Decision Support, the Associate Director of Institutional Research will oversee the institutional research office and staff to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of research and reporting along with enhancing and maintaining an analytic framework at Pacific.

1. Provides materials to support institutional decision-making.

2. Oversee Black Board Analytics and IRIS data mart including data integrity, reporting tools, training and development, consultations with users outside of IR, data security, user roles, and permissions.

3. Oversee the dissemination of reporting and research through multiple venues including the IR website, creation of research reports, and through presentations.

4. Direct oversight for the development and maintenance of dashboards and key performance indicators.

5. Direct oversight for managing official information concerning the institution and leads the coordination of internal and external informational requests.

6. Supervises IR staff.

7. Directly responsible for processes to ensure data integrity in University information systems and databases, validity of reports, and oversight of common University definitions.

8. Manages the office in the Assistant Provost’s absence, or as requested.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications.
Masters degree.
• Five (5) years experience in Institutional Research with some supervisory experience.

Experience in administration of large computer systems and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
• Ability to work on and coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
• Experience querying analytical databases to support research such as Black Board Analytics.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, time management skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience overseeing systems of reporting and accountability such as KPIs.
• Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data concerning a variety of issues and trends.
• Experience with maintaining web sites using software products that do not require significant programming experience.
• Knowledge of relational databases and the use of computer applications to manipulate and analyze data.
• Knowledge of state and federal agencies and regulations pertaining to data collection in higher education.
• Knowledge of SPSS, SQL, and other reporting software.
• Solid working knowledge of system development and staff management principles and practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and usage of spreadsheets.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
• Knowledge of general principles of statistics, management, and administrative methods.
• Knowledge of report writing techniques.
