Job dutiesPrepares and publishes the University’s institutional dataset via the Internet and Intranet (i.e. Performance Scorecard, Common Data Set). Assists in the research and reporting of institutional data to external agencies including College Board, Petersons, IIE, UNCF, Wintergreen, and US News and World Report. Prepares statistical charts, tables and graphs using a variety of computer software application programs such as Excel and SPSS. Maintains and manages databases relating to the University’s participation in national surveys and tests including the CIRP, SSI, CSS, and CSI. Assists with designing and conducting surveys, focus groups and data collection; utilizes descriptive, inferential and multivariate statistics to analyze data. Manages the day-to-day operations of the department; performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of departmental functions, including but not limited to establishing and maintaining filing systems, scheduling conferences and meetings, maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements and ordering supplies; performs routine clerical work as needed, including processing daily mail, entering computer data, copying and filing documents, assembling materials, faxing information, etc. Anticipates and prepares materials needed by supervisor for conferences, meetings, correspondence, etc. Receives, reviews, processes, types, composes and/or submits a variety of documents, including routine and confidential correspondence, reports, requisitions, expense reports, statistical reports, annual reports, etc. Interacts and communicates with immediate supervisor, other department supervisors and employees, co-workers, students, faculty members, sales representatives, external researchers, and the general public. Supervises student employee workers as needed.
QualificationsRequires a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in quantitative research methods, statistics, social science, education or a related field and a minimum of one year of related experience in higher education. Experience in assessment, evaluation methodology and institutional effectiveness activities are preferred. Also requires basic knowledge of statistical tools such as SPSS and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other application software or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Candidates must demonstrate excellent analytical, organizational, communication and writing skills as well as the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, the ability to present information/data in a user-friendly manner and to work effectively under demands associated with multiple deadlines.
