Job dutiesThe Research Associate position collects and analyzes decision support data and prepares reports of findings (including narrative, graphics and tables). May also design studies and develop data collection instruments and/or procedures. Study topics can include national/regional data, peer institution data and/or Southeastern data on students, alumni, finances, salaries, personnel, facilities, faculty workload and institutional characteristics. Provide appropriate input/assistance in the development of information systems. Assist in developing and preparing annual institutional reports. Prepare and/or verify external reports such as IPEDS, CUPA, AAUP, NCAA, Board of Regents requests, and University of Louisiana System requests. Provide accreditation and program review information as requested. Assist with institutional assessment and planning processes as needed. Respond to internal and external requests for information.
QualificationsRequired Education: Master's degree in an analytical discipline with statistical/quantitative coursework from an accredited university.
Required Experience: Demonstrated experience with at least one word processing application and at least one spreadsheet application. Familiarity with research design and statistical methods.
Required Skills and Abilities: Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to learn new skills on your own or through formal training.

Desired Qualifications Ph.D. from an accredited university.
At least one year of employment in a university institutional research setting.
Experience with PeopleSoft and SPSS a plus.
Familiarity with sampling methods, qualitative research methods, and survey methodology.

Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License and the ability to be certified by the Southeastern Safe Driver Program.
