Job dutiesDesigns, plans, conducts, and reports on research studies which meet the information needs of the District. Utilizes appropriate statistical procedures and sampling techniques. Conducts and compiles appropriate survey data as required. Develop and compile statistical and related information to support enrollment planning, management and decision making.
Collect analyze, interpret and communicate institutional data in the areas of curriculum, attendance accounting and scheduling.
Prepare reports as required by the California Community College Chancellor's office as well as local, state and federal agencies. Keep a master listing of all of the Chancellor's Office Reporting dates and ensure that they are submitted by the District in a timely manner.
Coordinates data collection and analysis in support of the institutional research program. Creates, develops, and maintains databases as necessary to support research.
Develops and maintains an Internet web page providing access to institutional research reports and data.
Responds accurately and timely to internal and external requests for institutional data and information.
Researches, tests, and evaluates software applications appropriate for use in institutional research.
Provides technical assistance and leadership for faculty and staff engaged in institutional or classroom research projects.
Collects, maintains, indexes, and updates reports and reference material used for institutional research.
May oversee and evaluate the work of student workers employed to assist in the institutional research effort and/or temporary employees or consultants employed to assist with specific research projects.
Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
QualificationsKnowledge of:

Methods and techniques of research in education, psychology, or the social sciences.
Methods and techniques of inferential statistical analysis.
Methods and techniques of computer use, including database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
Methods and techniques of use of the Internet for retrieving and displaying data and information.
Statewide initiatives relevant to community colleges.
Ability to:
Design and conduct quality research.
Gather, validate, and interpret data from a wide variety of sources, including literature and Internet searches.
Analyze data and develop understandable presentations of the data and analysis.
Perform statistical analyses using available software and interpret the results and findings.
Place and interpret research findings in the context of higher education and the community college.
Present data to various audiences using tables, charts, and narrative.
Maintain currency in data analysis trends with a desire to continue growth in understanding new trends and practices.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Effectively manage timelines, establish goals, priorities, and plan work accordingly. Take ownership, initiative and use resourcefulness in completing projects and tasks.
Employ correct language usage in spelling, grammar, and punctuation in technical writing and to effectively display data in graphic and tabular form.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the District.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, linguistic, ethnic backgrounds, and disabilities of community college students and staff.
Sit for prolonged periods of time; extensive use of a computer keyboard.
Travel for professional development training and workshops and attend conferences.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with significant coursework in research methods and statistical analysis.

Three years of responsible research, analysis, and report presentation experience, preferably in higher education.
Salary range$60,000 - $80,000
Salary benefitsSalary Range: $4,944.00-$6,077.00 monthly

Long-Term Disability
Income protection coverage for employees is provided. Should you become disabled, after a 60-day waiting period, the benefit payable to you is two-thirds of your monthly salary, before tax liability. Depending on your employment status, you are entitled to either a one-year benefit or up to the age of 65.

Retirement Plan
The District's employees are enrolled in either the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) or Public Employer's Retirement System (PERS), depending on position classification and/or prior membership. Retirement allowance is calculated on a formula based on age at retirement, number of years of service and income. Members are eligible to retire with a minimum of five years of service.

The Employee Assistance Program offers family and community counseling services - employees and/or their family members can receive counseling assistance. This is completely confidential.

Tuition Fee Waiver
Employees and their eligible dependents are eligible for tuition fee waivers for regular classes (not including community service classes) taken at Delta College. Dependents are eligible if they are declared by the employee on their Federal Income Tax Return.

Employees and members of their immediate families are provided free tickets to all District sponsored athletic events.
