Institution descriptionThe Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE) is the first professional school at UC Santa Cruz, originally founded in 1997. Over the past 20 years, BSOE has become a unique 21st century school of engineering and technology, characterized by evolutionary growth fueled by on-going research opportunities that open new areas of intellectual inquiry. BSOE has grown to include seven academic departments, several research centers and institutes, and has plans for further programmatic growth. The focus of BSOE's educational programs is to instill strong basic knowledge for sound practice in science and engineering for positive social impact, and its diverse curricula facilitates innovative thinking and prepares students for productive and rewarding careers. BSOE is focused on building collaborative connections and expanding instruction and research activities for faculty and students at UCSC and in Silicon Valley.
Job dutiesResponsibilities include providing data support for curriculum and leave planning, academic program review process, program assessment, enrollment management, external surveys, resource allocation, and ad hoc requests. The Planning and Resource Analyst produces presentations and reports representing data using visual graphics; assists units to identify useful statistical methods or develop methods or tools for data collection and analysis; and, utilizes campus enterprise systems like Infoview, Tableau and My UCSC for the benefit of BSOE units.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience /training

Experience in handling protected, sensitive, and confidential data

Experience accessing information stored in large data systems and use of computer applications, including databases, business intelligence, statistical, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Experience working in a multicultural and diverse work environment

Demonstrated experience creating visual representations of data

Understanding of organizational rules and regulations

Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team toward common goals, providing good judgment, decision making, problem solving; and to coordinate efforts and collaborate with a variety of individuals.
