The Research Data Analyst, working in the department of Business Strategy & Grant Management, serves as a key member of the team. Under general supervision of Sr. Director Business Strategy & Grant Development, the Research Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and communicating data regarding student and participant populations with CNM Ingenuity Programs. Applicants must have the ability to relate to and interact with a diverse participant and employee population, the ability to exercise considerable judgment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position is required to organize and prioritize projects, and be willing to attend events in multiple community sites during and after standard work hours. The Research Data Analyst is responsible for carrying out diverse research projects using student, college, regional, and national data. The Research Data Analyst uses a variety of techniques to acquire, analyze, summarize, and present data.
Job dutiesDuties and Responsibilities

•Gathers, organizes, maintains, and updates information for federal, state, local, and institutional reports, ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of the data obtained and submitted.

•Transforms raw data to prepared datasets for analysis and reporting.

•Analyzes, interprets, and presents data to faculty, staff, and College leadership for decision-making purposes.

•Constructs effective data displays, including tables and graphics, to communicate key points for succinct and meaningful consumption.

•Responds to internal and external ad hoc requests with accuracy and efficiency.

•Supports internal College consumers in survey best practices and dissemination of surveys.

•Develops and maintains assigned internal publications.

•Assists in maintaining the Institutional Research web resources.

•Trains institutional constituents on use of interactive data tools produced by the Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness.

•Prepares regular status reports, which may include daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and special project status reporting.

•Other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

•Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, Accounting or appropriately related field


•Three (3) years’ experience in data mining related work, or three (3) years of related experience and/or training


•Knowledge of database schema and system operations.

•Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office. Experience extracting data and compiling reports using SQL.

•Experience interpreting client informational needs and determining alternate solutions, providing training and/or customer support for users, developing and implementing web-based interfaces with HTML and Java, and documenting quality business processes.

•Additional years directly related experience with student information systems.

•Previous experience with SharePoint & Salesforce
