Institution descriptionKankakee Community College (KCC) is a two-year college, officially recognized by the Illinois Community College Board and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) through 2024.

In its College Credit Division, KCC awards associate degrees, associate in Applied Science degrees and certificates of completion. Students attend KCC both to prepare to transfer to four-year institutions and complete bachelor's degrees and to prepare to enter the job market directly from KCC.

Non-degree programs
KCC also offers non-degree programs to meet a variety of community needs, including workforce development and remedial development, through its office of Continuing Education and Career Services and its Division of Adult and Community Education
Supports the Director of Institutional Research in assessing institutional effectiveness by collecting, verifying, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data and research findings for use in accreditation, program reviews, funding, and enrollment. Responsibilities include extracting, analyzing, verifying, and summarizing data, and preparing and disseminating reports to enable informed decision making college-wide.

A. Builds and uses queries through Colleague to respond to data requests. Analyzes data to provide reports to administration, faculty, staff, and external constituents and agencies. Ensures accuracy of data gathered from databases and other sources for reports.

B. Performs data analysis and disseminates data reports that support strategic and department planning, decision-making, and internal/external accountability.

C. Facilitates the program review process, including fulfilling program-specific data requests.

D. Facilitates the administration of student surveys, including Student Evaluations of Instruction (SEI), the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) and Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI).

E. Assists employees in the development and analysis of surveys. Maintains data to ensure completeness and accuracy.

F. Assists the Director of Institutional Research in identifying data that the college needs to assess effectiveness, and produce corresponding reports, including regular enrollment reports and course success rates.

G. Works collaboratively with the Information Technology (IT) staff to support the verification of mandated external reports, and retrieve data relevant to research reports and data requests..

H. Maintains the Institutional Effectiveness webpage and contents, including regular updates of the college and division scorecards and dashboards.

I. Uses the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) for file submission, analysis, and reporting.

J. Leads the National Community College Benchmark Project (NCCBP) data collection.

K. Other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsA. Bachelor's degree with knowledge of specialized principles or techniques normally obtained through a four-year college/university academic program or equivalent in-depth specialized training directly related to the type of work being performed is preferred.

B, At least 3 years of experience in a position requiring extraction of data and analysis preferred, preferably from a student information system.

C. Ability to learn new computing technologies, data structures and to manage large volumes of data, and to maximize technology in analysis and planning required.

D. Experience with Ellucian Colleague student information system preferred. Experience with SQL desirable.

E. Ability to clarify problems, implement procedures for resolution and disseminate information in an appropriate and timely manner required.

F. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and detail-oriented with excellent writing skills required.

G. Experience using word processing and spreadsheets required. Experience with statistical analysis software and process mapping preferred.

H. Ability to independently work under time constraints, as well as a member of a team required.
Salary range$40,000 - $60,000
