Let’s Get Connected!

  • by Heather A. Kelly, AIR President

In these uncertain times you should know that you are not alone. Whether your concerns center around the pandemic, financial constraints, enrollment matters, or social unrest, AIR is here to support you and your work. As your professional association, AIR is working hard to connect our community virtually through channels such as the AIR Hub, the Knowledge Exchange, and Coffee Chats.

The newly launched Knowledge Exchange, hosted within AIR Hub, offers a set of curated resources and events to help you build a network of peers, collaborate on critical issues, and learn from each other. The current Knowledge Exchange centers around Navigating a Pandemic Together, and is a free benefit to all AIR members. Available resources include the findings from the AIR community surveys related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and relevant presentations from the recent AIR Forum Virtual. I encourage you to take advantage of these resources and the opportunities to connect and discuss with your peers in the Knowledge Exchange on COVID-19.

Beyond COVID-19, don’t forget to check out the wide range of discussions, debates, and innovative ideas featured as part of AIR Hub to assist you in navigating the current disruption and uncertainty. And, keep your eyes open for more information about a Coffee Chat to be hosted by the AIR Board later this month that will focus on the future of higher education and the implications for institutional research and other data professionals.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the AIR Stakeholder Survey. Both the AIR Board and Staff will use the information collected to help shape the future of the association. The ultimate goal is to strengthen AIR’s support, education, and advocacy for data-informed decision making that will, in turn, benefit students, institutions, and improve higher education.
