Academic Requirements of the IR Office Leader

  • by eAIR

Academic requirements of the office leader vary by the institution and the role that the office leader plays at their institution. In general, post-graduate degrees are commonplace among office leaders. We asked office leaders to identify their highest degree earned in the National Survey of IR Offices. There were 339 IR offices that responded to this question in both the 2015 and 2018 data collections. Of this longitudinal cohort, we found that more office leaders hold post-graduate degrees in 2018 compared to 2015 and more office leaders hold doctorate degrees in 2018 compared to 2015.
