‘Tis the Season of Gratitude

  • by Heather A. Kelly, AIR President

On behalf of the AIR Board of Directors, I would like to express our gratitude to the AIR community and all you do to promote the success of our institutions, our students, and higher education. During these unprecedented times you have demonstrated the value and scope of institutional research for proactive, data-informed decision making by higher education leaders. You are higher education’s change agents and are an inspiration!

During this time, our professional network is more critical than ever, and we would like to thank you all for being engaged professionals and willingly sharing your ideas, practices, and expertise with others. Your commitment to our community and higher education is impressive. Thank you for giving back to our profession in so many ways!

We would also like to express our gratitude to the AIR staff. This has been a year of change for all of us. These talented staff members have been resilient and have created new and innovative ways to serve AIR’s stakeholders, including alternative ways for the AIR community to connect and learn. Thank you for creating these invaluable opportunities!

We also have the opportunity to show our gratitude to colleagues who have made extraordinary contributions to the success of AIR and our profession through AIR awards. The three awards recognizing individual members include the Outstanding Service Award, the John Stecklein Distinguished Member Award, and the Sidney Suslow Scholar Award. This year’s nomination process for AIR award opportunities opens in January, so be thinking now of who you will nominate.

Serving on the AIR Board of Directors is both an honor and a privilege for which we are grateful. We wish you and yours a joyous and healthy holiday season, and a happy New Year!
