The State University of New York College at Cortland invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Institutional Research and Analysis.
Job dutiesThis position will be responsible for the maintenance, dissemination and analysis of accurate and consistent college-wide data derived internally to provide for mandated external reporting and internal administrative planning and decision-making. The Associate Director also assists the Director with the systematic organization of data and utilization of data warehouses and reporting systems to facilitate campus-wide access to official data. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Institutional Research and Analysis and works closely with offices within the academic affairs division and throughout the campus.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; at least two (2) years of experience working in institutional research or assessment or related area; demonstrated proficiency in basic statistical concepts and methods; proficiency working with college student information systems; demonstrated proficiency with data warehousing and report writing tools such as Argos, Cognos, or Crystal Reports; knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques and research design; strong analytical and communication skills; evidence of attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree; proficiency with BANNER student information system; basic knowledge of SQL and/or Argos; demonstrated proficiency with SUNY Institutional Research Information System (SIRIS) or similar complex statewide unit-record level data submission systems; evidence of ability to coordinate and prioritize concurrent projects and work collaboratively.
