Institution descriptionButler University is currently seeking a Data Specialist in the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA). The Data Specialist is a member of a team responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of institutional data necessary to support the work of the University and OIRA in a timely and effective manner.
Job duties•Manage and maintain current and historical databases
•Oversee the collection and dissemination of statistical data under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment
•Coordinate teaching evaluations for all colleges in the University
•Be responsible for a variety of regular and ad hoc reports and publications, including state and federal reports, dashboards
•Work with the Director to prepare and publish data for the annual fact book
•Build queries to extract, store and analyze data from data systems (e.g.,Peoplesoft)
•Respond to internal and external requests for institutional information
•Provide high-quality reports accurately and within the assigned deadlines
•Assist with the development, administration, and dissemination of surveys
Qualifications•Highly analytical and detail oriented
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
•High degree of accuracy in all work
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
Salary benefitsSalary will be dependent on:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field
•Minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional setting or equivalent
•Must be very detail-oriented and meticulous with a proven high degree of accuracy
•Very proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
