Job dutiesThe Office of Planning and Assessment (OPA) seeks a Database Specialist to provide database development, administration, maintenance, and associated application programming services for the management of data to support official reporting (e.g. IPEDS), the University Fact Book, accreditation, learning outcomes assessment, strategic planning, and institutional research. The qualified candidate will be the database and systems administrator for OPA and will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, modification, security, and testing of all data necessary to support OPA analytic processes. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for OPA web publication of the University Fact Book and other web-based information such as the Common Data Set. This position will be responsible for the administration of multiple databases in a multi-user environment and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data structures, extraction and transformation, data integrity and validation, access, and security.
QualificationsTypically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The qualified candidate will have comprehensive experience in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, IIS and ASP.NET, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Access and other Office products, HTML and CSS, XML, JavaScript, and Google Analytics. Experience preferred with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions SIS (LionPATH), Workday HRIS, and Canvas LMS. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to being flexible, analytical, organized to manage multiple technical projects, and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Must be able to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment.
